pass the year / Not at your university yet

We are not at your university yet. That is not a policy. It is a queue, and you move it.

pass the year is exam preparation built for one program at a time: summaries written for your courses, and a coach who sat your exam. Here is how it comes to yours.

How this works

  1. Ask for your programYour program, your university, an email. Thirty seconds.
  2. We countEvery request for the same program lands on the same list, and we read it.
  3. At 50 from one program, we open itWhen 50 people from one program have asked, we find a coach from that program, write the material for its courses, and open the room. You hear the day it opens.

Each request is one person from one program. At 50, the program is real enough to write for and to find a coach from. This bar shows the mechanism, not a live count.

Why we cannot simply switch your university on

We do not open a room we cannot be excellent in. Being excellent means a coach who has sat the same exam in the same program, and summaries written for that program rather than adapted from a neighbouring one.

That is why we cannot switch a university on from a spreadsheet, and it is the same reason the rooms we do run are worth having. The queue is how we find out where to go next, and it is honest about the order.

What arrives when your program opens
  • Summaries written for your courses, by someone who passed them.
  • passOS: practice that knows what your exam actually asks, so you stop reading everything.
  • A five-day accelerator before the exam, run by a coach from your program.
  • Your year in one place, from the first lecture to the exam-room door.

Why I built it this way

I sat these exams. I spent six weeks before every one of them reading everything, with no idea what would actually be asked, and I watched people who were cleverer than me fail for the same reason.

pass the year is the thing I wished existed then: everything a course will ask, in the order it will ask it, and someone who has passed it standing next to you for the last five days.

We are not at your university because we have not met the person there who should teach it yet. Ask, get your program to the number, and if you are that person, say so. We will call.

Ask for your program

Tell us which one. It joins the list for your program, and at 50 we come. We use your address to tell you when it opens, and for nothing else.

Or tell us on WhatsApp

Would you help open it?Optional, and it is the fastest way to move your program up the queue. A room opens when somebody from it can teach it.

We use this to tell you when your program opens, and for nothing else.

What happens next

You get one email when your program reaches 50, and one when it opens. Nothing in between, and no newsletter.
